Wall Cavity Mold Testing in Los Angeles
Air sampling from inside wall cavities to check for hidden mold behind drywall without tearing the wall open.

When wall cavity testing makes sense
- A musty smell in one room with no visible growth.
- A past leak behind a shower, tub, sink or water heater.
- Elevated moisture readings in a wall with no visible damage.
- Room air samples that are elevated when the source is not visible.
How it works
We make a small access hole and draw a measured volume of air from inside the wall cavity through a sampling cassette. The sample goes to an independent laboratory, and the results are compared with a room or outdoor sample so you can see whether the cavity has elevated spore levels. The opening is small and easy to patch.
What the results can and cannot tell you
A wall cavity sample tells you about the cavity being tested, not every wall in the house. We use moisture readings and the inspection to choose the right location, and we explain what the results mean.
What happens next
You receive a written report with the laboratory data and an explanation of what it means. We do not perform remediation or repairs, so our recommendations are not tied to a sales pitch.
Wall Cavity Testing FAQs
- Will you damage my wall?
- Only a small access hole is needed, and it is easy to patch. We do not open walls or remove drywall.
- Is wall cavity testing better than room air testing?
- They answer different questions. Room air testing shows what is in the air you breathe. Wall cavity testing checks a specific hidden space. We recommend the one that answers your question.
- How much does it cost?
- The professional mold inspection is $49, and it is waived if you proceed with testing during the visit. Testing is priced and approved by you before any samples are taken.
- How fast will I get results?
- Lab results come back in 24 to 48 hours after sampling, and rush lab options are available.
